Dr. Fudge, a violinist, has been a member of the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra and other prestigious orchestral and chamber ensembles, and a frequent soloist in both recital and concerto venues. He also plays viola, and gigs as a jazz performer on upright and electric bass.

He has taught Jazz History, American Music, Non-Western Music, String Techniques and Pedagogy, and appreciation courses in addition to string instrument lessons. Currently, Dr. Fudge teaches at both Black Hawk College and St. Ambrose University.

Why study music?

An essential part of arts and culture, music has been known to transform peoples’ lives.  Studying music and its history can give us a window into the mind of a past genius or the everyday routine of a working professional musician, but it also gives a very unique perspective on how we can personally see our own place in modern society.
