It's easy!
Here are instructions to create a header for APA formatting. Note that there is no footer for APA.
1.
Go to the Insert ribbon
Choose Page Number > Top of Page > Plain Number 3

You should be inside the header now!
2.
Type an identifying word or two (part of your paper's title), press the space bar once, then click the Close Header button. Quick view (no audio):
Notes:
- If the font style and size does not match the rest of the paper (remember all text in an APA paper should be the same - Times New Roman or Arial, size 10 or 12, only), you can fix this using the Home ribbon before leaving the header.
- If you need to get back into the header, you can just double click in that area of the page. Similarly, you can double click in the main part of the page to get out of the header.
- You might notice that the text looks gray, but it prints black.
