Memos

The office memo is an internal document; it is not typically shared outside the company. The word "memo" is typically either all-small case or all-capital case. It is okay to use a different date format as long as it is clear which specific date is intended. The content should be focused and succinct.

In the first paragraph, it should be made abundantly clear why the memo is being written. You might have several paragraphs, depending on the reasons for writing it; it is okay to include short lists if you are explaining a process.
If you are writing a memo for a school assignment, follow all instructions for content and paragraphing, of course. Do not provide a saluation, a closing line, or your signature, as this content is already contained in the block at the top of the page.
